Introduction:
With a trading market over 600,000 sqm, 8,000 plus companies, 35,000 shuttleless looms, and more than 30,000 kinds of textiles, Shaoxing is the largest textile manufacturing base and trading centre in Asia, attracting over 100,000 visitors daily, more than 600 resident international buyers. The annual capacity of spinning fibers of Shaoxing reaches 1.5million tons, fabrics 3.5 billion meters, dyeing and printing fabrics 12 billion meters and clothes 150 million pieces. In 2005, the county realized self-run export of USD 3.36 billion in total. The 2005 Expo came with 800 exhibition stands and 52,000 visitors. 4,300 visitors were from U.S., France, Italy, Poland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia, etc. The 2005 Expo realized a transaction volume of USD 210 million.
